1. Legal notice
This website is operated by the entity that runs the tourist establishment Quinta Arca, in accordance with the information duties of the Mozambican Commercial Code and of Law no. 3/2017 of 9 January (Electronic Transactions Law).

Quinta Arca operates under the Tourism Law (Law no. 4/2004 of 17 June) and the Regulation of Tourist Establishments, Restaurants, Bars and Dance Halls approved by Decree no. 74/2022.
2. Booking terms
2.1 Requests and confirmation
Requests sent through this website, by WhatsApp, telephone or email are not binding until Quinta Arca confirms them in writing. A reservation is confirmed once you receive our written confirmation and, where requested, the deposit has been received.
2.2 Prices and payment
Prices are quoted in Mozambican meticais (MZN) and include VAT (IVA) at the legal rate, unless stated otherwise. The deposit, the balance and the accepted payment methods are stated in each confirmation. Weddings, conferences and events are quoted individually and governed by a specific written agreement.
2.3 Cancellations and changes
The cancellation conditions that apply to your booking, including any amount retained, are set out in your written confirmation before you pay a deposit. Changes of dates are subject to availability. If Quinta Arca has to cancel a confirmed booking for reasons attributable to it, all amounts paid will be refunded in full.
2.4 Arrival and departure
Check-in: as stated in your confirmation. Check-out: as stated in your confirmation. Every adult guest must present a valid identity document or passport at check-in. As required by Mozambican law, the establishment records guest details and communicates the stay of foreign guests to the competent authorities.
2.5 House rules
- On arrival, please check in at reception before parking at your accommodation.
- Food and drinks brought from outside are not permitted. Where this rule is not respected, a service fee may be charged; the amount is stated in your booking confirmation.
- Breakfast and meals are not included in the standard room rate unless your confirmation says otherwise. Meals may be ordered in advance.
2.6 Conduct and liability
Guests are asked to respect the house rules, the peace of other guests and the natural surroundings. Guests are responsible for damage they cause to the property. Quinta Arca is not liable for valuables not handed in for safekeeping, nor for events of force majeure.
2.7 Consumer rights and applicable law
Nothing in these terms limits the rights guaranteed to consumers by the Consumer Protection Law (Law no. 22/2009 of 28 September). These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Mozambique. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Maputo, without prejudice to the consumer’s right to approach the consumer protection authorities.
3. Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and handle personal data in accordance with Article 71 of the Constitution of the Republic of Mozambique, Law no. 3/2017 (Electronic Transactions Law) and other applicable law. We also follow internationally recognised standards (such as the EU GDPR and South Africa’s POPIA) for guests who travel to us from abroad. If new Mozambican data protection legislation comes into force, this policy will be updated accordingly.

Reservation requests sent from this website are delivered to our reservations email through the form service FormSubmit (formsubmit.co); this website does not keep a copy. If you choose “Send by WhatsApp”, the text opens in WhatsApp and reaches us through that service.
3.3 Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers we need to run the quinta (for example FormSubmit, WhatsApp/Meta, Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies, our email provider and our accountants), with suppliers you ask us to involve in an event, and with public authorities where the law requires it. Some of these providers process data outside Mozambique; we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
3.4 How long we keep it
Booking enquiries that do not lead to a reservation are deleted within 12 months. Reservation and invoicing records are kept for the periods required by Mozambican tax and commercial law.
3.5 Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to info@quintarca.com. We reply within 30 days. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
3.6 Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
4. Cookies
This website uses no advertising cookies. With your consent only, we use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) to count visits and understand which pages are useful: it sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* (kept up to 14 months) and records pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and clicks such as “book now” or WhatsApp. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Other third-party content is only loaded when you ask for it: the satellite view (Google Maps) loads only when you press “Fly over the estate”, and links to Instagram, WhatsApp and Google Earth open those services, which apply their own cookie and privacy policies. The live weather in the footer is fetched from Open-Meteo, which sets no cookies.
5. Complaints book
In accordance with Decree no. 74/2022, a Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações) is available at the establishment and will be provided to any guest who requests it. Complaints recorded there are sent to the competent inspection authority. You may also write to us at any time at info@quintarca.com, and we will reply as quickly as possible.
6. Website terms
All content on this website, including the text, the Quinta Arca name and emblem, illustrations and photographs, belongs to Quinta Arca or is used with permission, and may not be reproduced without written authorisation. We take care to keep information accurate, but descriptions, availability and prices are confirmed only in writing at the time of booking.
